The young soap star welcomed a baby girl into the world with girlfriend Levi Selby.
Coronation Street star Alex Bain has become a father at the age of 17 after his high school sweetheart, Levi Selby, gave birth to a little girl, who they've named Lydia-Rose Bain.
The actor, who plays troubled Simon Barlow in the soap, has been flooded with well wishes from fans.
His fatherhood comes just weeks after he and Levi sat their GCSE's.
The young couple have been dating since April last year and were both seemingly over the moon at the news they were expecting.
Alex was forced to deny split rumours in July 2017, and confirmed the baby news by announcing: “I’m still with my girlfriend, and can’t wait to have my own little family!”
Meanwhile Levi posted an image of the 12-week scan to her Facebook page

A source told The Sun: 'They are absolutely over the moon — it’s the greatest gift they could have hoped for this Christmas.'
Alex has played Ken Barlow's grandson in Coronation Street for an impressive ten years, starting off in the soap at the young age of 7.
In 2011 he won Best Young Performance at the British Soap Awards and has since been nominated four more times.
