Bedfordshire Police Sign

A man's been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a head-on collision on the Woburn Road in Kempston, just outside the Bedfordshire Police headquarters

The force says at around 4.30am today (Wednesday 20th March) a black Mercedes estate and a white Ford Transit Connect were involved in a head-on collision.

Four men were located at the scene and taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and three others for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

A fifth individual ran off from the scene - and is still on the run.

The road is currently closed and expected to be reopened later on today.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference 32 of today.

Police say the fact the crash happened outside Bedfordshire Police's HQ, is  coincidence and did not involve any officers or staff.
