Community organisations and voluntary groups in Corby are being invited to apply for a slice of £300,000.
Following Corby Council’s annual Budget meeting, the Grants committee were given the opportunity to approve a ‘One Off Grants Pot’ of £300k. This money was agreed due to the increasing number of requests for funding support and in view of the continued strengthening of the Council’s financial position which is showing a balanced and sustainable position.
This money will give more local voluntary and community organisations the chance to apply for and receive funding from Corby Borough Council for the benefit of their project, ultimately giving back to the people of the Borough.
The extra funding will be available for one year and organisations can apply for anything up to the £300k but the grant award must be spent before 31st March 2020. Applicants need to apply by Friday 29th March.
Corby Borough Council’s Lead Member for Community, Cllr John McGhee, said:
"As we face uncertain times, it is our main priority to put money back in the Corby community in the year ahead. I am extremely pleased that we are in a position to add funding to our Grants pot, as there are countless voluntary and community groups within the borough who we would be more than happy to give that extra help to fund their project.
I urge these organisations to get in touch and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity."
