Fire at Bedford Health Village

60 firefighters tackled the blaze overnight in a derelict building behind Bedford Health Village.

Around 60 firefighters from across the region have tackled a major fire at Bedford's Health Village.

Emergency crews were called to Kimbolton Road at just gone 6pm yesterday, to the derelict North Wing of Bedford Hospital.

They used aerial platforms and covering jets to extinguish the fire from the outside and put measures in place to stop the fire spreading

Crews were still dappening down this morning.

Appointments at Circle MSK Bedfordshire's Enhanced Service Centre - which normally take palce at the building next door, have been cancelled today.

But staff at the nearby Cedar House and Archer Court say it's "business as usual".

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
