Man Charged With Gillingham Murder

A man has been charged with murder and arson as part of an investigation into the death of a pensioner in Gillingham.

 

The body of 68-year-old Alan Wyatt was found at an address in Firethorn Close after officers received a report of a fire at the property at around 10.30am on Thursday 14 February 2019.

Michael Bryant-McMurchie of Firethorn Close, Gillingham is due in court later. (Monday 18 February)

Meanwhile, detectives are appealing for motorists with dashcams who may have been parked in or travelling through the following locations in Gillingham between 7am and 11am on Thursday 14 February.

• The Vineries;
• Castlemaine Avenue between The Vineries and Grange Road;
• Grange Road between Ingram Road and Castlemaine Avenue;
• Parr Avenue;
• Burnt Oak Terrace.

They are also appealing for any residents or businesses in the same areas who might have private CCTV systems and was recording during the timescale mentioned above.
