QEQM Power Cut : Four Arrested

Four men have been arrested in connection with a power cut which affected the QEQM hospital in Margate on Wednesday night.

Police were called on just after 9pm to reports that power lines had been damaged and the emergency department was affected.

New patients were urged not to come to the department, while those already there were moved to other areas of the hospital while fire fighters tried to connect a generator.

The men being held, aged 38, 37, 35 and 26, were arrested by West Midlands Police yesterday afternoon in the Birmingham area.

They have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to commit theft, and all currently remain in custody.
