Sophia Airey missing

Police have appealed for help in tracing a 29-year-old woman missing overnight.

Sophia Airey did not return to her Edinburgh home on Wednesday night, and officers say it is unusual for her not to have been in touch with family or friends.

She was last seen in Corstorphine at around 2.30pm and is believed to have been in the South Queensferry area at around 7.30pm.

Inspector Grant McCulloch said: "It is extremely out of character for Sophia to not return home or keep in touch with loved ones and we are eager to locate her as soon as possible and ensure she is alright.

"If you believe you have seen Sophia anytime after 2.30pm on Wednesday, or have any information that can assist us in finding her then please contact police immediately."

Ms Airey, of Edina Street, is described as white, around 5ft 7in, of medium build, and has jaw-length brown/blonde hair.

She is thought to have been wearing light blue skinny jeans, a multi-coloured turtle neck top and black suede boots.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101 and quote incident number 3399 of December 19.
