The trial of four people accused of being members of a banned far-right group has been adjourned until later this week.

Mark Jones, 24, and Alice Cutter, 22, both of Mulhalls Mill, Sowerby Bridge, near Halifax, deny being members of National Action between December 2016 and September 2017.

The Crown also alleges that Garry Jack, 23, and Connor Scothern, 18, are guilty of belonging to the organisation between the same dates.

Jack, from Heathland Avenue, Shard End, Birmingham, and Scothern, of Bagnall Avenue, Nottingham, also deny membership of a proscribed group.

All four defendants appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday before trial judge Melbourne Inman QC, the Recorder of Birmingham. A jury of seven men and five women is expected to hear the Crown's opening in the case on Wednesday.
