Two people who died following reports of multiple explosions at a bungalow have been named as a mother and daughter.

Suffolk Police said Pamela Tierney, 78, and her 50 year-old daughter Julie died at their property in The Street, Lidgate, near Newmarket.

Pamela died of natural causes and Julie as a result of smoke inhalation, according to initial conclusions from a post-mortem.

A fire, which started at 12.15pm on Tuesday, caused significant structural damage to the building.

The deaths are not being treated as suspicious by police.

A spokesman for the police said: "Enquiries by police and fire service investigators have concluded at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing and it is too early to comment on the possible cause of the explosions."
