All Staff Lose Jobs As Construction Firm Enters Administration =

A Tayside construction company has made all its staff redundant after going into administration.

Land & Building Services blamed the move on difficult trading conditions and the loss of fellow Dundee firm McGill & Co as a major client.

The firm - founded in 1990 - employed 27 people and provided a range of services to the construction sector.

Derek Forsyth and Blair Milne, partners with Campbell Dallas, have been appointed joint administrators.

Mr Forsyth said: "The trading and cash flow problems affecting the construction sector are well-documented and unfortunately Land & Building Services has been affected by these issues together with the loss of a major client (McGill & Co) in the Tayside market.

"We will now be marketing the company's assets for sale, including remaining contracts, and a wide range of plant and equipment, and would urge interested parties to contact us as soon as possible.

"We will also be working closely with the relevant agencies, including the Redundancy Payments Office, to ensure the employees receive as much support as possible."

It was announced more than 370 people at McGill would be made redundant when the firm appointed administrators last week.

The building contractor employed 429 people across its Dundee headquarters and offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Land & Building Services has ceased trading with immediate effect.
