Man charged after multi-vehicle crash on A90

A man has been charged in connection with a crash between a bus and two cars which left three people dead.

Police Scotland's North East Police Division said a 34-year-old man, the driver of a red Renault Megane, was arrested and charged with alleged road traffic offences following the crash on the A90.

He is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Four people were taken to hospital following the incident, which happened between Aberdeen and Dundee at Glenbervie at about 4.30pm on Tuesday.

None of the passengers on the Scottish Citylink bus were hurt but the driver sustained minor injuries, police said.

The three people who died, two men and one woman, were passengers in the Renault, and were understood to be foreign nationals.

The driver and another passenger, a woman, were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the crash.

The man and woman in the other car involved, a Ford B Max, were also taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where their injuries were described as not life threatening.
