Man suffers head injury in Paisley pub attack

Police in Paisley are continuing enquiries after a man was assaulted within a public house in the town centre on Thursday 4th April.

Around 3.50 pm on Thursday 4 April 2019 a 58-year-old man entered the toilets within The Last Post public house in County Square, Paisley when he was assaulted by a man who was already within the toilet area.

The suspect then left the premises leaving the 58-year-old man with a head injury.

The injured man was treated at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for his head injury before being released.

The suspect is described as white, in his 30's with short brown hair. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, blue t-shirt and 'Fred Perry' training shoes.

Detective Constable Paul Fanning at Paisley CID said:

"We are still trying to establish the exact circumstances of this incident and if there was any motive behind this assault.

"CCTV footage has shown that another man walked into the toilet area around the time of the attack, however he walked out again and has not provided a statement to police. It is vital that this man contacts police as a matter of urgency as he may have information that could assist our enquiry and help trace the person responsible for this violent assault.

"Anyone else who was within the pub on Thursday 4 April around 3.50 pm and has any information that could assist our enquiry is asked to contact police at Paisley CID via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 2738 of 4 April 2019."
