A man from Redhill has been jailed for an attack which left a man with such bad head injuries he will need 24 hour care for the rest of his life.

Tomasz Kuspiel, 38 from Reading Arch Road has been given 13 years for GBH, harassment and burglary over what happened back in January.

Surrey Police have described the case as 'devastating'.

Detective Constable Nola Petherbridge, who was investigating the case, said: "This attack has had a devastating impact on the victim and he will need 24-hour care for the rest of his life.

"It has, naturally, had a heart-breaking effect on his family and my heart goes out to them as their lives will never be the same again.

"This sentence demonstrates the severity of the offence and Kuspiel will spend a considerable amount of time behind bars for his crimes."
