Man Jailed After 40 Mile M6 Police Chase With Stolen Caravan

A Walsall man who was pursued by police on the M6 while towing a stolen caravan has been jailed.
Officers from the Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) were alerted to a Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck towing a caravan, both of which had been stolen and on false plates, travelling on the A34 northbound towards Trentham at around 4:40am on Friday 22 June 2018.
A pursuit began when the vehicle failed to stop for officers, with the truck and caravan almost colliding with a lorry at the entrance to junction 15 on the M6 southbound, before speeding through roadworks until it was finally stopped at Hilton Park Services near Junction 11.
40-year-old Steven Beeson, from Wednesbury Road in #Walsall has been jailed for 20 months after pleading guilty to driving whilst disqualified and theft of a caravan.

Steven Beeson, 40, from Wednesbury Road, Walsall, was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on 26 March to 20 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to driving whilst disqualified and theft of a caravan. Beeson was also disqualified from driving for three years with a requirement of an extended test to re-qualify.
PC Andrew Sigley, from the Central Motorway Police Group, said: "Beeson demonstrated some very dangerous driving and was lucky he did not cause a collision with another motorist. The excellent work by our pursuit team meant we were able to bring this reckless behaviour to a safe end."
