Peterborough murder latest - Wednesday

The man in his 40s remains in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station after being arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder.

Emergency services were called to an address in Cromwell Road in Peterborough yesterday morning (2nd July).

At about 6.40am officers and paramedics attended the scene following reports of violence.

They discovered a woman in her 40s with fatal injuries.

Another woman, who is in her 30s, and a 9 year-old boy were taken to hospital for treatment.

Today, Wednesday (3rd July), the 9 year-old boy remains in hospital with stab injuries; the second woman (in her 30s) who was also stabbed, has been discharged.

Update: A man in his 40s, from Peterborough, who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been taken to Thorpe Wood Police Station.
