Train firm plans rival London Liverpool bid

Looks like we might NOT lose Virgin Trains completely - despite the firm losing the West Coast franchise via Milton Keynes next year.
Virgin's submitted an application to run services to Liverpool - with cheaper fares and GUARANTEED seats.
Currently, London Northwestern is the only operator in Herts, Beds, Bucks and Northants taking passengers directly to Liverpool.
