A 21 year-old woman's suffered injuries after what police have described as a "serious assault" in the leafy Northants village of Brixworth this afternoon.
Police were called at around 1pm, to Station Road.
The victim's been taken to Northampton General Hospital.
A male has been arrested in connection with this incident.
District Commander, Chief Inspector James Willis, said:
“Thankfully, incidents like this are very rare and I would like to reassure the community in Brixworth, who will understandably be worried, that we believe this to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the wider public.”
