Hitchin - man charged with murder

A man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a 25 year-old man from Hitchin.
Eswaran Sinnathurai, 24, of Wilshere Crescent, Hitchin, has been charged this afternoon (Wednesday, 24th April) and is due to appear at Hatfield Remand Court tomorrow (Thursday).
Police were contacted just before 4.30am on Tuesday (April 23) to a report that a man had been seriously injured inside an address in Capswell Court, Hitchin.
Officers and the ambulance service attended the flat where the victim – Katheeskaran Thavarasa, who is better known as Karan, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. He had suffered knife wounds.
Detective Inspector Iain MacPherson, from the Major Crime Unit, said:
“This was an isolated incident inside an address and involving individuals who we believe are known to each other.
At this stage of the investigation we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the murder.
The victim’s family are currently being supported by specialist officers.”
