West Midlands Police Find Loaded Gun In Stolen Range Rover

A man arrested by officers in Birmingham inadvertently opened the door for them with a keyless fob in his pocket.
A man has been arrested after a keyless pocket fob he was carrying opened the doors of a stolen Range Rover being staked out by police, as he walked by.
West Midlands Police said plain-clothes officers had spotted the suspect Evoque 4x4 model, believed to be on cloned plates, and were arranging for it to be seized when the incident happened in the early hours of June 21.
A 26-year-old man was detained at the scene in Beak Street, Birmingham, and when officers later searched the vehicle they discovered a loaded silver-coloured revolver in the glove box.
The luxury 4x4 was later found to be among four cars stolen during a burglary in Hampton Lucy, Warwickshire, on June 12.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of car theft, possession of a pistol and burglary, and bailed pending further inquiries.
Inspector Al Teague, from the force's Birmingham organised crime unit, described the incident as "great timing".
He added that the seizure of the gun was "potentially life-saving".
