Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley has confirmed she will dance on Saturday after seeking medical advice for an injury.

Strictly favourite Stacey Dooley, 31, will dance on Saturday night, despite suffering a painful injury during her rehearsals this week.

The documentary maker, who is partnered with Kevin Clifton, suspected she had broken a rib, but medics confirmed she'd actually torn an intercostal muscle behind a rib.

Stacey has been told not to move for the next few days, which will seriously limit her rehearsal time for her next performance at the weekend.

She posted to her Instagram: "Nothing's broke! All the drugs and all the cuppas gonna hook us up! See you Sat! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH TO ALL THE STAFF. You are all bloody amazing."

Her news came after she initially uploaded an image suggesting she had sustained an injury.

Stacey's agent told The Sun Online: "It's very painful. She is strapped up and the doctor has said she should be able to move in a couple of days."

The docu-maker's last performance saw her perform a spellbinding Dr Who-themed Tango for Halloween week, which saw her score an impressive 35 points from the judging panel.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday night at 7.05pm on BBC1.
