The EastEnders actress was missing for parts of last night's I'm A Celeb episode due to health fears.
However, after her shock departure last night, Rita revealed that she suffers from hypoglycaemia and was struck down with low blood sugar.
Rita told Dec and Holly: "I'm hypoglycemic and last night had I to go out. I had a slight incident.
"But I saw a doctor and had a screening and I'm fine."
If left untreated, hypoglycaemia can lead to loss of consciousness, seizures and can even be fatal.
Following the health scare, Rita had also been ruled out of the latest Bushtucker Trial on medical grounds.
Rita became the fourth celebrity to leave camp after the public decided she had had her time in the jungle.
