The EastEnders actress was missing for parts of last night's I'm A Celeb episode due to health fears.

Rita Simons, 41, was noticeably absent from the I'm A Celeb camp last night as her fellow companions took on a challenge to allow them to read letters from home.

Dec and Holly eluded to the EastEnders' star's absence but did not reveal exactly why she was missing.

However, after her shock departure last night, Rita revealed that she suffers from hypoglycaemia and was struck down with low blood sugar.

If left untreated, hypoglycaemia can lead to loss of consciousness, seizures and can even be fatal.

Following the health scare, Rita had also been ruled out of the latest Bushtucker Trial on medical grounds.
